Since 1983, MHC has represented Maryland's
diverse equestrian community as the horse industry's trade association. We
protect and promote the equine industry to the Maryland government and the
general public through media and our members.
Types of Membership
- Association:
Annual - $100, Lifetime - $1,000
Open to all sporting, breed, and activity clubs, as well as
professional organizations that have a voting membership. A member
association is entitled to designate one individual to serve on the
Board of Directors. The Board of Directors, by vote, decides policy
and legislative positions for the Maryland equestrian community.

- Business:
Annual - $100, Lifetime - $1,000
Open to any business, service or professional. Stay up-to-date on
critical issues affecting the potential financial future of your
business! Critical issues include monitoring tax issues, include sales
tax for retails goods and/or service4s, estate taxes, etc., regulatory
issues regarding feed, pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals and
supplements, equine health professionals, insurance, import/export
facilities, auctions and sale sites, competition sites, and many, many

Annual - $75, Lifetime - $750
Open to any stable or farm! Critical issues affecting stable owners
include insurance availability, liability, licensing and regulation,
preservation and land use programs, infectious and contagious
diseases, quarantine facilities, emergency management, attempts to tax
stables as "amusement", opportunities for competition and

Annual - $40, Lifetime - $400, Youth (under age
17) - $5
Open to any interested individual who supports the goals and purposes
of MHC. Critical issues facing individual horse owners and horse
enthusiasts include in-state competition facilities, preservation and
creation of public bridle trails, taxes, insurance, regulation of
equine health care professionals, zoning and preservation issues, and
